Spring 2024 Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week (May 6-10) at Glenn Dale Elementary School:

Superheros work HERE! A special shout out to parent volunteer and master event designer Ms. Santana of Santana Enchanted Designs, LLC, who redesigned the library into an incredible superhero oasis for all GDES staff and teachers. 

Spring 2024 - District 4 Annual Beautification Day, featuring Glenn Dale Elementary School!

This past spring, we partnered with Board of Education District 4 Representative Shayla Adams for "Growing Green with Pride." Held twice a year, this initiative is part of the county's ongoing Beautification Initiative, aimed at making our communities cleaner and more vibrant through localized litter collection efforts. Together, we demonstrated our commitment to keeping Glenn Dale beautiful and inviting. We spent the morning transforming the GDES courtyard! We aimed to create a safe and welcoming space for our children to enjoy. As a thank you for their hard work, GDES students earned a $5 Gator Buck, middle and high school students received service-learning hours, and staff members received a special incentive. A big shoutout to Lowe's #0702 for generously donating our fantastic perennials! And check out those new umbrellas! 

Spring 2024—Pi Day with the PTA!

Thank you to everyone who helped make PTA Pi Night 2024 a success. Special shout out to the four 8th graders from Thomas Johnson Middle School and an 11th grader from Duval High School, who each earned two hours towards their service-learning goals! We also want to thank the staff volunteers, including Ms. Figueroa, Dr. Ingram, Ms. Porterfield, Ms. Rajeev, Ms. Chapman, and Ms. Zate. Special appreciation goes to Mr. Lee and Mr. Oscar; we couldn't have done it without you. Your dedication and support helped make the event run smoothly. Lastly, we couldn't have done it without the parents and guardians who joined as volunteers. Thank you, Mrs. Holt, Ms. Reese, Ms. Demetrius, and Ms. Santana, for your invaluable assistance and enthusiasm!

Fall 2023 School Clean-up Day at Glenn Dale Elementary School

A special thanks to the 24 volunteers who helped spruce up the school grounds. Volunteers included parents, students, teachers and school staff, and community members. And a very special commendation is due to the Suburban Lions Club who provided critical support.
